Anthurium
Anthurium is an instantly recognizable houseplant.
Anthuriums are epiphytic: in its native habitat grows upon another plant or object merely for physical support. Epiphytes have no attachment to the ground or other obvious nutrient source and are not parasitic on the supporting plants.
Anthurium is noted for its attractive waxy, palette-shaped, bright red spathes and contrasting dark green foliage. The beautiful red spathes are identified by the telltale, heart-shaped flower.
Anthurium's ease of care makes them good beginner houseplants.
